We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our team in Essex, United Kingdom.
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain machine control software.
- Liaise with X-Ray testing product stakeholders.
- Transfer code into volume manufacture.
- Support and debug field issues
- Visit customers, Nordson sites and agents when necessary
- Any other reasonable duties.
SUBSIDIARY ELEMENTS
- Hours: 37.75 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5pm, Friday 8:30am – 4pm
- Company Healthcare Scheme after successful completion of probationary period (3 months)
- Group Personal Pension Plan – 4% minimum employee contribution, 6% employer contribution after successful completion of probationary period (3 months)
- 25 days annual holiday entitlement, plus public holidays
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
- Software development experience: C++
- Familiarity with concurrent and asynchronous programming techniques.
- Software design experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office and other reporting skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Essential:

- Communication skills – verbal, written and presentation.

- Proactive approach to problem resolution.
- A high degree of flexibility in a continuously changing environment.
- Visual Studio 2015 or later.
- Software development on 64-bit Windows 10 & 11 platforms.
- Good numerical skills.
Desirable:
- Understanding of materials testing.
- Software development using C or C#
- Experience of controlling of electro-mechanical robotic systems, sensor systems or any other related field.
- Experience of working in or with electronics component manufacture.
- Experience of material handling equipment
- Source code and Issue Tracking systems experience.
- Customer facing experience.
